
1967 Toyota FJ 40 specifications Many engineering and mechanical modifications were made to improve performance, handling, ride and drivability as well as versatility and use friendliness. These include: 1. Toyota 5 speed transmission with power clutch assisted by a pneumatic pump. Toyota transfer case and power take off. Transfer case has a lower gear ratio kit installed. The transmission was rebuilt during restorations including a new clutch kit. 2. Front and rear differentials each contain a Detroit Tru-Track Locker (Model #913A315) 3. Front and rear Toyota axles, rear are a one ton full floating, Axle ratio is 3.7:1. 4. Power steering is based on Cher. power steering pump and a Chew. Saginaw one ton steering box. Steering linkage is by 4x4 Labs crossover steering with ¾ ton tie rods mounted above the springs and behind the differential protecting it for heavy off-roading and rock climbing 5. Power brakes are assisted by a remote booster adapted from a '56 Thunderbird (no room in the engine compartment). Front Toyota disc brakes and rear drums with a Witwood proportioning valve, 6. Off road suspension components are from Old Man Erny with '06 Toyota heavy duty rear sway bar which can be un-hooked for rock dimbing. 7. Tires are 35x12.5 BFG All Terrain T/A's including a spare. 3. The front winch is the original OEM that came with the Fl has a new 3/8°100ft cable. It is driven by a PTO which will also accommodate the addition of a rear winch if desired. 9. There are original duel fuel tanks for estimated 30 gallons. 10. Restored in red body with white top in premium Dupont base coat/clear coat. Original color was light blue. 1.
